4th October

“I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers. It would be terrible if we just skipped from September to November, wouldn't it?”

Lucy Maud Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

Perhaps is is a very used quote but I still love it and I do welcome October with joy every year (a total autumn freak here!).

It is time to announce our competition results! I am doing it late only because there was a big argument in our house about the name and every one had a different view on what's best but, eventually, after some long negotiations and consultations with the Leavened's team we decided that our "classic sourdough" is nothing else than "Just Bread" (idea put forward by Sally who is the winner of the 1st prize!).

Second prize goes to @nibbletips.

Third prize goes to Sophie Haolaway.

Thank you everyone for participating and congratulations to the winners. We will be in touch to arrange collection of your goodies.

There is more good news - today Finland and Sweden celebrate Cinnamon Bun day! We were not open so I thought we could celebrate a cinnamon bun week in Stevenage and all cinnamon buns will be ~10% off this week (£2 instead of £2.20) so come and grab yours!

I think it is time for our menu this week:

Just Bread

(aka Classic Sourdough) £3.70

Roasted garlic and nigella seed £4.80

Seeded sourdough £4.50

Dark rye sourdough (450g) £3.50

Light Rye Sour £4

Spelt with Seeds (new loaf) £5

Cinnamon Bun £2

Apple and Caramel swirl £2.80

Plum and crumble cake slice £2

Herb and garlic bun £1

The pumpkin spiced buns will make a return at the end of the week and we will serve them throughout October. There will also be more French pastries during the week available in the shop.

To order for Box Bike delivery please send us an email to at least one day before you wish to receive bread.

See you soon!

Bread from 9 am, pastries from 11, herb buns from 12.30.
