Hey. It seems that many of you are waiting for me to share a few words again so here I am. I don't feel I have a massive amount of information to share but I think it is a good habit just to reach out to you all. I have received some beautiful feedback about my writing which I am very grateful for, considering that English is not my first language and even though I think I have absolutely no accent when I speak, the reality is that I am very much Polish with quite a strong accent and love for words. And now on top of that, the pressure to perform is real but I will do my best not to overthink it.
I must admit that with the hot weather, we are really struggling with keeping our stock levels right. One day we have a lot of bakes and bread left, which is then sold as a Too Good To Go bag and then temperature drops and we sell out at 12.30. Or the temperature drops and we don't sell out at all, you see there is absolutely no pattern in your behaviour. Because of all that, we are thinking of some new ways of doing things slightly differently behind the scenes but I am not sure just yet where that will take us.
You are also asking about the workshop so to update you, I just need to make some final decisions and there will be information available on that subject very soon.
In terms of what's happening on the farm, next Saturday (19 July) there will be a Harvest Market organised by our lovely landlords. It will be similar to the previous events with one change which is that there will be £5 per car charge at the entrance. I encourage everyone local to walk or cycle, and if you wish just to drop by and buy a loaf, come before 9.30 or use Friday/Sunday as an opportunity to stock up.
And on that note I am saying goodbye for today and packing my passport as I am flying out to Warsaw tomorrow to enjoy and investigate (mostly enjoy) for Polish bilberries and bakes full of them. It's been my small dream to go one time in July and I always forgot to book the plane ticked in advance. This year I also forgot but decided that dreams are to make them happen so here I am, absolutely ecstatic about the amount of carbs I will be consuming whilst being transported to my childhood full of bilberries starring in dishes like pierogi, crepes topped with sour cream and famous jagodzianki (pastries filled to the brim with those purple fruit, topped with insane amounts of crumble). It's only a one night/two days affair so I will be back ready for a busy week ahead.
Take care and see you soon!
Iza
