Hello,
With only two weeks until Christmas I thought I would share some important information with you. I have already done so over our social media but not everyone is there so I don't want you to miss out.
Firat of all, probably the most important thing - Christmas orders. These can only be placed in person and please do it as soon as possible, especially if you want to collect your bread on Christmas Eve as that day is filling up fast.
In terms of our Christmas offer, our festive cranberry and walnut sourdough will make a come back. We are also preparing some amazing biscuits, my favourite being the German lebkuchen and my second favourite - Swedish coconut peaks which we had over one weekend and which went down a treat. There are Laura's gorgeous mince pies, stollen and some bits from our regular offer. If you want to place an order just ask for a form at the till.
In terms of opening times and days - we will be open on Monday 22 December, Tuesday 23 December and Christmas Eve. Over those three days you will be collecting your orders and we will have small amounts of bread for those who are not as organised and a small counter offering for anyone looking to catch a breath over a coffee and a "pick me up". On Christmas Eve we will only be open for collections and coffees and close at 1 pm.
We are also getting close to our first baking workshop on Monday 15th December and you should have received an email if you've signed up for the course on that day (please let me know if you haven't).
Last but not least, with such a busy period for everyone, please remember that it's all about you and the people you love. Don't forget to stop and just immerse yourself in the moment, don't get yourselves too fixated on the preparations, buying everything like it's the end of the world and making your house the cleanest on Earth. It is not easily done but this time is all about kindness and love and I think what we forget about that it is also about kindness and some love towards ourselves, our bodies and souls. I believe that my calm and happy approach can travel further down the hearts of the people we love than the most expensive gift (I am still learning how not to fixate myself over the festive season but running a busy bakery seems to be a good teacher as sometimes there is no other option to let go). And I think this is what I think I wish everyone this year - cut yourselves some slack, let go and enjoy every moment.
Iza
